# We collect as little as we possibly can.

Privacy is not an afterthought for us — it’s built in. This site uses **no cookies**, no cookie banner and no cross-site tracking. Here is the handful of details we do process, and why.

## Data controller

## Visitor statistics

We use **self-hosted, cookieless analytics** (Umami) to see how many people visit and which pages get read. It sets no cookies, stores no identifiable IP address, and builds no profile of you. The numbers are anonymous and aggregate — we can’t trace them back to a person.

## The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store **your email address** for one purpose: to send you a beta invitation and news about Vara. We don’t sell it and don’t use it for anything else. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to the address above.

## Your voice

The website itself processes no audio. In the **app**, your audio is sent only to the transcription engine you choose, and used solely to produce the text. Choose WhisperKit, running on your Mac, and neither audio nor text leaves the machine.

## Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, and to object to processing. Write to [hej@vara.dk](mailto:hej@vara.dk) and we’ll help. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

## Changes

We update this policy if anything changes — for example if we one day add a newsletter or switch analytics tools. When that happens, you can always find the latest version here on this page, and we won’t quietly expand what we collect.
